Mandate

To provide the Leduc-Nisku EDA Board with strategic council on matters which could affect the economic prosperity of the greater Leduc Region including but not limited to information and intelligence on the community’s markets, labour force, competitive markets, economic trends, industrial and commercial sites and requirements, zoning, transportation, utility services, tax implications and industrial land sales and acquisition policy.

Pat Ross

Patrick F. Ross is an active investor with a history of successfully restructuring and growing industrial companies.

Currently, he is the CEO and President of Nisku based Hyduke Energy Services Inc.
 
He is also Board Chair and shareholder in Steeplejack / Westcor, a construction services company employing thousands of people in Western Canada. Pat is the only Canadian Affiliate Partner at New York based Lindsay Goldberg LLC. LG has over $13b USD in closed funds, specializing in privately owned portfolio companies requiring $100m to $500m in equity. In 2010 he was the Alberta Provincial Court appointed CRA (Chief Restructuring Advisor) for Cow Harbor Construction. Prior to that he was a board member, CEO and shareholder in several successful engineering and construction related companies and a principal partner with Polar Capital, a private equity firm focusing on value growth and turnaround situations. 
 

Perry Batke

Perry Batke has worked with the Denham Hospitality Organization since 1993 and is currently General Manager of the Best Western Plus Denham Inn & Suites and Days Inn Edmonton Airport.
 
Perry is currently the Chair of the Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association and a Regional Governor with Best Western International since 2006, serving & representing the Hotel Owners & Operators in Central & Northern Alberta. In this role he has also chaired the Brand’s Membership Development, Education & Training Advisory Committees and Western Canadian Marketing Co-op.

Perry has been active in our local community, serving as Vice Chair of the Leduc – Nisku EDA, President of the Leduc & District Chamber of Commerce & member of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce Audit Committee.

Perry lives in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, is married to Rose and has two children, Benjamin and Caitlin.
 

Lynette Hayden

Lynette Hayden has been the Branch Manager at ATB Financial in Leduc for the past year.  
 
She has been in the banking industry for 24 years in various positions and various lines of business including Retail Banking, Business Banking, Investment Banking and Management.   
 
The majority of her career she has spent with ATB (a total of 17 years), but has also worked for other organizations including RBC, CIBC and Servus Credit Union.  During the years, she was very involved in the various communities that she lived in, actively participating in Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and Parent councils.
 
She is currently the Treasurer for the Leduc and Nisku Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Black Gold Health Foundation, and part of the Better Neighborhoods initiative.  ATB is proud to be a Leduc-Nisku EDA corporate sponsor, and  she is excited to be part of the Leduc-Nisku EDA Business Advisory Council
 

Christina Forth

Christina Forth is AOG International’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. 
 
Christina is responsible for the P & L, the Strategic Direction and Overall Management of the Company’s Operations. 
 
With a background in Management and Transportation she founded AOG International in 2003 in a home based office.  Since then Christina has built it into a leading Independent Freight Forwarding and Logistics Company with revenues averaging $2+MM per year.

Currently AOG International has its Canadian operational hub at the Edmonton International Airport and a US satellite office in Houston, Texas. Christina’s efforts had AOG International as 41st out of 50 fastest growing companies in 2014 for Alberta and was also nominated for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014.  Prior to founding AOG International, Christina worked in Hotel Management with 4 departments and over 90 staff under her supervision.

Russ Webb is the CEO of Tridentium and brings a vast experience in Operations management, organizational design and the implementation of business strategies.  Having managed projects up to three billion dollars, managed teams of up to 240 staff and directly controlled operating budgets of a quarter billion per year, Russ provides an insight into project management that creates a direct connection to the Executive Management expectations and business vision.  As a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Change Management Professional (CMP), Russ creates a parallel alignment between the successful implementation of business projects and the effective adoption of new systems by the end-users.

Greg Johnston is President of AltaGas Utilities Inc. (AUI), a natural gas distribution utility, headquartered in Leduc, serving 78,000 customers in and around over 90 communities across Alberta.  He has worked at AUI for over 34 years, primarily in Leduc.  He is a Director of the Canadian Gas Association, a member of the Beaumont Business Leaders Roundtable, and Co-chair of the Leduc Caring Companies Committee, affiliated with the Capital Region United Way.  He has served on various volunteer boards and committees in Beaumont, Athabasca, and Edmonton.
 
Greg holds a Bachelor of Applied Studies Degree and an MBA, both from Athabasca University.

Richard has quickly risen to be an outstanding professional in economic development and has won numerous awards and accolades for his work. Over his decade of experience, he has been a guest speaker at several economic development workshops and conferences and brings an energetic, entertaining presentation style.

Richard, who has a Diploma in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo, has been employed in the economic development field for more than ten years. Winner of three Economic Developers Association of Canada marketing awards, Richard understands the importance of communications and the importance of partnerships in building a positive climate for growth. Richard maintains a commitment to sound, balanced economic growth and that approach has brought him recognition from both Economic Developers Alberta (Alex Metcalfe Award, 2008) and the Central Alberta Economic Partnership (Excellence In Economic Development Award, 2008).

Lisa VanderKwaak started her career as a Speech Language Pathologist, and eventually became an entrepreneur, opening her first business in 1993 providing Accent Reduction Coaching. She has since spent over 15 years working with Non-profit organizations training and coaching leaders and their teams in areas of personal transformation, change management, and communication effectiveness. In 2008, Lisa became a Certified Executive Life Coach and founded Real U inc, a Communication Coaching Company.  With over 25 years as a professional speaker and also a Certified Speaking Coach, Lisa opened the Emerging Women Speakers Academy in 2016, an online platform designed to train women leaders to fine-tune their public speaking skills to speak with increased confidence, clarity and impact.
 
Lisa and her husband also own a promotional marketing franchise company called EmbroidMe, which has a physical storefront in Beaumont, Alberta.  In addition to being a wife, mother of 3 children, she is a best-selling author of 3 books, and is always working on her next one.   Lisa also serves on the Board of CAPS Edmonton, is the president of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and is actively involved in her community.

John Fairhead is the newly elected President of the Devon Chamber of Commerce.
 
John was born in Toronto and moved to Alberta after graduating from high school. He recently retired from ATCO Gas after 34 years of service.
 
He is a licenced Land Agent for the Province of Alberta and owns his own consulting business. He spent most of his career working in the oil and gas industry and most recently worked on large pipeline and power line projects in Alberta. He has worked with landowners and coached them through the process of dealing with power line and pipeline companies that want to build power lines or pipelines on their land.
 
He enjoys being active and is always up for taking on a new challenge.
