Though Alberta’s International Region is an industrial hub, the enviable quality of life is why people chose to live and raise their families in our communities.
Black Gold Regional School Division includes the municipalities of Leduc, Beaumont, Calmar, Devon, Thorsby, and Warburg with over 10,000 students in 29 schools.
The region is home to numerous health care facilities including the Leduc Community Hospital, the Devon General Hospital, and public health centres in Leduc, Beaumont, and Thorsby.
An active, healthy lifestyle is part of living in Alberta’s International Region. Each community provides their citizens with access to enviable recreation centres, arenas, and swimming pools. Numerous parks, trail systems and access to local lakes, ensure there is something for every outdoor enthusiast.
Alberta’s International Region benefits from the Leduc Transit system, an inter-municipal transit partnership between the City of Leduc and Leduc County. Leduc Transit offers public transit (bus) service that connects the Leduc and Nisku areas and also stops at the Edmonton International Airport and the Century Park LRT station in south Edmonton.
